The woman carrying a child in her arms and another on her back is known as Iya Beji...a Yoruba phrase which means "mother who gave birth to two" - the title given to mothers of twins. In Yoruba culture, twins are considered to be a blessing and are believed to bring good luck, love, and prosperity to their family. The mother is also thought to be doubly blessed...literally.  

The Yoruba people of South Western Nigeria and Benin Republic have the highest rate of twin births in the world where twins are given special names regardless of their gender.
