Suzy Perette was renowned for creating more affordable takes on Parisian couture designs beginning in the 50s in New York, using used high-quality fabrics and workmanship to create pieces in the style of Christian Dior's "New Look,". The head of the firm would often purchase the rights to incorporate certain notions of Dior designs into the company's pieces, making their clothing very similarly constructed, if not exact replications of the work of high-end designer fashion houses.
