A very unusual and rare early Char messenger bag that will add the perfect hippie chic to any outfit! I have never seen this version in their bags before and I love it. It is completely finished with whipstitching and is covered with a hand painted floral design. These Char pieces are really wearable art and are becoming more and more collectible, especially when they are such a pretty and unusual version like this one is. It is entirely hand made and the leather is hand dyed to a deep green. I love the messenger, "pony" bag styling and how it is entirely whipstitched together. That amazing floral design is painted onto the front flap and body of the bag while at the back there is a slip pocket. The closure is very unusual with a braided leather cord attached to a corner of the bag and then running through a loop that the flap closes over.  It has that worked in patina that collectors desire and the combination of the unusual color and design mixed with rhe pretty hand painted flowers is fantastic. Raw leather interior with some "grubbiness" and natural patina to both the interior and exterior consistent with time and normal wear. In pieces like this the natural aging and wear only adds to their sense of history and appeal.
