Who We Serve

Our clients include individuals handling personal or family documents, attorneys and law firms coordinating certified records, businesses managing corporate filings and international compliance, and clients overseas who need U.S. documents prepared for use abroad.

Whether the request involves one document or an ongoing professional relationship, we begin by reviewing the specific requirements and explaining the available options.

How We Operate Today

Today, NY Notary Public Services supports individuals, law firms, corporations, and international clients across the United States and worldwide.

We use secure, government-approved technology for Remote Online Notarization, identity verification, and digital document handling, allowing eligible documents to be completed without unnecessary travel. At the same time, every request is reviewed and managed by experienced professionals who understand the practical requirements behind the paperwork.

Innovation has always been part of our family-business history. Reader's Commercial Stationery was among the early New York City neighborhood businesses offering professional color copying, and NY Notary Public Services continued that tradition as an early provider of Remote Online Notarization in New York State. From emerging document technology to modern digital notarization, we believe in adopting tools that help us serve clients more effectively.

Technology helps us work faster.
Experience guides the details.

  • Practical knowledge of court, County Clerk, and government document procedures
  • Direct communication with knowledgeable professionals
  • Clear document review before work begins

Experience That Shows Up When It Matters

Our approach is grounded in a family-business tradition of hands-on document service dating to 1977.

That background, combined with our work in today’s notary, court, Apostille, and international document processes, helps us understand where delays occur and how avoidable problems can be identified early.

That practical experience allows us to:

  • Identify document issues before submission
  • Understand how clerks, courts, agencies, and consulates process paperwork
  • Navigate international requirements efficiently
  • Explain the appropriate document format and process from the start
  • Help reduce avoidable rejections, delays, and unnecessary resubmissions
  • Provide personal accountability from initial review through project completion

Where It All Began

Reader's Commercial Stationery
Greenwich Village, New York • Established 1977
One of New York City's earliest commercial copy centers and the family business that laid the foundation for today's NY Notary Public Services.

NY Notary Public Services traces its roots to Reader's Commercial Stationery, a family business established in 1977 at Ninth Street and University Place in Greenwich Village.

While many people remember Reader's for its stationery, greeting cards, Montblanc pens, newspapers, lottery tickets, and neighborhood atmosphere, the store also became one of the earliest commercial copy centers in New York City. Long before email attachments, desktop printers, and PDF files, businesses, attorneys, students, architects, and professionals relied on Reader's to reproduce important documents using Xerox equipment that was literally the size of automobiles by today's standards.

Reader's was also among the first neighborhood businesses to offer professional color copying, a specialized service that was considered cutting-edge technology at the time. The large "COPY CENTER" sign visible in the historic storefront photograph reflects a service that became an important part of the business for decades.

Every day, customers arrived with contracts, legal papers, business records, presentations, applications, architectural drawings, court documents, and countless other important records. They weren't simply looking for copies — they wanted guidance on preparing documents correctly, understanding requirements, meeting deadlines, and avoiding mistakes before submitting paperwork to government agencies, courts, schools, employers, banks, and other institutions.

Helping people navigate important documents became just as important as selling office supplies. That practical, hands-on experience naturally evolved into professional notary services, Apostille processing, international document legalization, and the comprehensive document services that define NY Notary Public Services today.

For nearly five decades, one thing has remained constant: helping people with important documents. Only the documents have changed.

From Retail Roots to Professional Document Services

As client needs evolved, so did our services. What began as a neighborhood retail business and copy center naturally expanded into professional notary, Apostille, and document services as clients increasingly required support with legal filings, international documentation, court records, corporate records, and time-sensitive matters.

Our growth has been shaped by returning clients, referrals, and the trust built through careful document handling.

Our Philosophy

We believe strong customer service and deep experience matter just as much as modern tools.

Our roots in a neighborhood retail business taught us that trust is built one interaction at a time. That same mindset guides us today, whether we are assisting a local client, a law firm, a business, or someone coordinating documents from another country.

While our services have evolved from traditional neighborhood notary work to international document processing, one thing has never changed: our commitment to handling every client's documents with care, accuracy, and personal attention.
