We are closed on weekends and major holidays. Messages received outside support hours are reviewed and answered on the next business day.

We do not offer walk-in notarization or walk-in document services.
Do you accept walk-in or in-person visits?
No. Walk-ins and in-office appointments are not available. Many eligible notarizations can be completed through Remote Online Notarization. Limited mobile notary appointments may be available for qualifying documents, subject to location and scheduling.

Remote Online Notarization (RON)

Learn how New York Remote Online Notarization works, who is eligible, acceptable identification, technology requirements, and what types of documents may be notarized online.

What is Remote Online Notarization (RON)?
Remote Online Notarization (RON) allows a New York State–commissioned notary public to notarize eligible documents through secure audio-video technology while the signer and notary are in different locations. The signing session takes place live, with identity verification completed before the document is electronically notarized.
Is Remote Online Notarization legal in New York?
Yes. New York permits Remote Online Notarization under applicable state law and technical and identity-verification requirements. A properly completed New York RON is legally valid; however, acceptance of electronically notarized documents depends on the receiving party, particularly for international, court, and filing purposes.
Who can use Remote Online Notarization?
RON is available to individuals and businesses located throughout the United States and internationally, provided the document is eligible for online notarization and the signer successfully completes identity verification.
Do I have to be located in New York?
No. You do not need to be physically located in New York to use our Remote Online Notarization services. Clients regularly connect with us from other U.S. states and from countries around the world.
What identification is required?
Most signers need a valid government-issued photo ID. Before the appointment, our platform performs identity verification using credential analysis and, when required, knowledge-based authentication (KBA). Learn more on our ID Verification & Technical Requirements page.
Which browsers work for Remote Online Notarization?
Use a current, compatible browser such as Google Chrome, Safari, or Microsoft Edge. Firefox is not supported by our RON platform. Allow camera and microphone access, use a stable connection, and avoid VPNs or private browsing during verification. See technical requirements.
What if I cannot pass identity verification?
Contact us before attempting to restart repeatedly. An incomplete verification attempt may not count as a completed failure. Depending on the document and circumstances, credible witnesses may be considered where permitted and after advance review; they are not a guaranteed workaround. See ID Verification & Technical Requirements.
Can I sign from another country?
In many cases, yes. Signers may join eligible New York RON sessions from outside the United States if identity verification and other requirements can be met. Signing abroad is different from acceptance abroad: the foreign receiving authority may require an apostille, authentication, a particular original format, or another process. See RON for International Use.
What documents cannot be notarized online?
Our New York Remote Online Notary service does not handle wills, codicils, trusts, health care proxies, or New York statutory powers of attorney. Other documents may be restricted by law or by the receiving authority. Please email an unsigned PDF for eligibility review before requesting an appointment. See Document Eligibility & Limitations.
How long does a Remote Online Notarization appointment take?
Most appointments take approximately 10–20 minutes after identity verification has been completed. Larger transactions involving multiple documents or multiple signers may require additional time.
Can an electronically notarized document be printed for submission?
A RON session produces an electronically notarized document. A printed copy may not meet every receiving authority’s requirements for an electronic original or additional certification. Confirm the required format with the recipient before proceeding. We can review apostille or authentication needs separately.
Where can I learn more about the Remote Online Notarization process?
For a complete explanation of eligibility, technology requirements, and the signing process, visit our Remote Online Notarization page or our How Remote Online Notarization Works guide.

Apostille & Authentication

Find answers about Apostille services, authentication, eligible documents, processing requirements, turnaround times, and international document legalization for both Hague and non-Hague countries.

What is an Apostille?
An Apostille is an official certificate issued by the appropriate government authority that verifies the authenticity of a public document for use in another country that participates in the Hague Apostille Convention. Common documents include birth certificates, marriage certificates, diplomas, powers of attorney, corporate records, court documents, and notarized documents.
What is the difference between an Apostille and Authentication?
An Apostille is used for countries that are members of the Hague Apostille Convention. Authentication is generally required for countries that are not members of the Hague Convention and may also require legalization through the destination country's embassy or consulate. If you are unsure which process your document requires, we will determine the correct procedure during document review.
Does an apostille guarantee that my document will be accepted abroad?
No. An apostille authenticates the relevant signature, seal, or official capacity; it does not guarantee that the foreign receiving authority will accept the document’s contents, format, age, translation, or electronic signature. Confirm requirements with the recipient before processing. See our Hague country guide and non-Hague legalization guide.
Can you tell me if my destination country requires an Apostille or Authentication?
Yes. Simply tell us the country where your document will be used. We'll determine whether it requires a Hague Apostille, State Authentication, Federal Authentication, or Embassy / Consulate Legalization before work begins.
What documents can receive an Apostille?

Many types of documents may qualify, including:

  • Birth certificates
  • Certificates of Good Standing
  • Corporate records
  • Court documents
  • Death certificates
  • Divorce records
  • FBI Background Checks
  • Marriage certificates
  • Notarized documents
  • Powers of attorney
  • School records and diplomas
Eligibility depends on where the document was issued and how it was prepared.
Do you process documents from all 50 states?
Yes. We coordinate Apostille services for documents issued in all fifty states. Requirements and processing times vary by state, so every document is reviewed before work begins.
How long does the Apostille process take?
Processing times depend on the issuing authority, document type, and destination country. Eligible New York documents may qualify for expedited processing, while documents from other states and federal agencies follow their respective processing schedules. Estimated turnaround is confirmed after document review.

Learn more on our New York Apostille & Authentication Services page.
Can you provide same-day New York Apostille service?
Eligible New York documents may qualify for same-day service, subject to document type, government office availability, volume, and advance approval. For requests involving RON, the online notarization must be completed by 10:30 AM New York time, with final documents received and approved by 11:00 AM. Confirm availability before relying on these cutoffs.
Can you review my document before I send the original?
Yes. In fact, we recommend it. Simply email your document in PDF format before mailing any originals. We'll review the document, confirm eligibility, explain the correct process, identify any potential issues, and provide the appropriate next steps before work begins.
Do I need to mail my original document?
Some documents require the original document, while others can be processed from certified copies or newly obtained records. We'll explain exactly what is required after reviewing your documents.

Federal Apostille & FBI Background Check

Learn how federal Apostilles work for FBI background checks and other U.S. federal documents, including authentication through the U.S. Department of State and current processing requirements.

What is a Federal Apostille or Federal Authentication?
A Federal Apostille or Federal Authentication is used for documents issued by a United States federal agency. These documents are processed through the U.S. Department of State rather than a state-level Secretary of State office.

Common federal documents include FBI background checks, FDA records, IRS documents, USPTO documents, federal court documents, and other federally issued records.
Can you apostille an FBI background check?
Yes. We assist with FBI Background Check Apostille services for international use. FBI background checks are federal documents and must be authenticated through the U.S. Department of State.
Do you accept electronic FBI background checks?
In many cases, yes. Electronic FBI background checks may be eligible for federal authentication when properly issued and accepted for the intended use.

Email the PDF version for review before mailing or submitting anything. We will confirm whether the document appears eligible and explain the next steps.
How long does an FBI Apostille take?
Our expedited federal submission workflow is typically estimated at 12–14 business days, subject to U.S. Department of State review, processing conditions, and document eligibility. Standard mail-in processing may take approximately 5–8 weeks. These are estimates, not guaranteed completion dates. If the receiving country imposes a validity window on the FBI check (sometimes 90 days), tell us before submitting.

Learn more on our FBI Background Check Apostille page.
Do you hand-carry federal documents for authentication?
Yes. For eligible federal documents, our Washington, DC team coordinates physical submission and retrieval at the U.S. Department of State. Approval and processing remain subject to the Department’s requirements and schedule.

NYC Marriage Certificates

Yes. We assist with retrieval of Extended New York City Marriage Certificates from the New York City Clerk for eligible requests.

This service is commonly used for immigration, dual citizenship, foreign marriage registration, divorce proceedings, visa applications, and other international document requirements.
What is an Extended Marriage Certificate?
An Extended Marriage Certificate is the long-form version of a New York City marriage record. It is commonly required for international use because it contains more complete information than the short-form certificate.

For many foreign submissions, the extended certificate must also be certified and apostilled before it can be accepted abroad.
Which boroughs do you cover?
We assist with New York City marriage certificate requests for marriages recorded in all five boroughs:
  • Manhattan
  • Brooklyn
  • Queens
  • Bronx
  • Staten Island
Can you apostille my NYC marriage certificate?
Yes. We can assist with the full process for eligible New York City marriage certificates, including retrieval of the extended certificate, county certification where required, New York State Apostille, scans, and shipping.

Learn more on our NYC Marriage Certificate Services page.
Do I need to appear in person to request my NYC marriage certificate?
In many cases, you do not need to appear in person. We provide instructions and the required authorization process so we can request the eligible marriage certificate on your behalf.

Requirements are confirmed after intake review.
Can you obtain New York City birth or death certificates?
No. We do not retrieve New York City or New York State birth or death certificates.

For Apostille purposes, New York City birth and death certificates often require a Letter of Exemplification and must generally be obtained directly through the appropriate agency by the eligible person or authorized party.

Mobile Notary

Find answers about mobile notary appointments, service areas, document eligibility, travel availability, and when an in-person notarization may be required.

Do you offer mobile notary services?
Yes. We offer scheduled Mobile Notary services for eligible documents that require traditional wet-signature notarization or in-person handling.

Mobile appointments are limited and must be scheduled in advance.
Where do you travel for mobile notary appointments?
Mobile notary availability depends on schedule, document type, and location. Service areas may include Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Long Island, and surrounding communities by appointment.

Availability is confirmed after document review.
Do you provide witnesses?
No. We do not provide witnesses for documents such as wills, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, or other documents requiring witness signatures.

If witnesses are required, they must be arranged by the client.
Can wills or powers of attorney be notarized online?
Our Remote Online Notary service does not handle wills, codicils, trusts, health care proxies, or New York statutory powers of attorney. Other documents are reviewed individually. For documents requiring in-person procedures, a traditional notarization may be appropriate, subject to availability. Review RON eligibility.
