Start With Document Review
All New York Remote Online Notarization (RON) requests begin with a review of the complete, unsigned document. We confirm eligibility and the next steps before an appointment is scheduled. Submitting a request does not confirm an appointment.
Ready to begin? Send your unsigned PDF for review, or request an appointment if you already have your documents prepared.
PDF attachments only: Please do not send screenshots or photographs in place of the document.
What to Send (PDF Only, Unsigned)
- Your complete document in PDF format, unsigned.
- Each signer's full legal name and individual email address for the identity-verification invitation.
- Your best phone number for coordination, if needed.
- The document's intended use and any applicable deadline.
- For international use, the destination country and any instructions from the receiving authority.
- The number and location of signers, and whether document witnesses may be required.
- Whether you also need an Apostille, Authentication, translation, or shipping.
What Happens Next
- Document review: We evaluate the document, proposed notarial act, intended use, and any witness or additional certification requirements.
- Appointment coordination: If the request is eligible, we provide the available scheduling options and instructions. The appointment is not booked until confirmed.
- Identity verification: Each signer receives a separate invitation and must complete the required verification before the live appointment. Credible witnesses may be considered where permitted and appropriate.
- Live notarization: Eligible signers participate in a secure audio-video session and sign as instructed by the notary.
- Completed documents: We provide the electronically notarized document and discuss any applicable Apostille, Authentication, or delivery arrangements.
Browser compatibility: Use a compatible modern browser, including Chrome, Safari, or Edge. Firefox is not supported. A working camera, microphone, and reliable internet connection are required. See ID Verification & Technical Requirements.
Same-Day New York Apostille timing (if applicable): The RON appointment must be completed by 10:30 AM New York time, and final documents must be received and approved by 11:00 AM New York time. Same-day processing depends on eligibility, document type, volume, and government office availability and is not guaranteed.
Have a deadline or a complicated signing? Include the date needed, signer locations, and any receiving-authority instructions when contacting us.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I book a RON appointment before sending my documents?
You can request availability, but we must review and approve the unsigned PDF before confirming an appointment.
Should I sign the document before my appointment?
No. Submit the document unsigned. The notary will explain when and how to sign during the live session.
Can I participate from another state or country?
Often, yes, if the document and signer are eligible and identity verification can be completed. Acceptance of a remotely notarized document by an overseas receiving authority is a separate matter and should be confirmed with that authority.
What if I cannot complete identity verification?
Contact us before repeatedly attempting verification. We can review the issue and whether another legally permitted identity procedure may be available. See our verification guide.
Can you arrange an Apostille after notarization?
For eligible documents, we can review Apostille or Authentication requirements. The receiving authority determines whether it will accept the electronic notarization and the final document format.
